Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake

This chocolate chip loaf cake is just as amazing as it sounds! What I love about it is the consistency; I always go for a dense cake but this is somehow dense and fluffy at the same time. I would recommend anyone to try this out, especially if you want something like my

these are a sweeter alternative.

One thing that is very important to remember is to properly prepare the loaf pan. It is best to either generously spray the pan or coat it with unsalted butter, and then place flour in the pan and shake around to thoroughly coat the entire area, including the side walls, in flour.

This is a great dessert to gift someone because it is in one loaf and is easy to travel with. I gifted some to my boyfriend's family and they loved it! You can also wrap the loaf and tie a ribbon on top for a cute look.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cup (219 grams) All-Purpose Flour

1 1/2 teaspoons (6 grams) Baking Powder

1/4 teaspoon (575 milligrams) Salt

3/4 cup (1.5 sticks, 170 grams) Unsalted Butter softened

3/4 cup (150 grams) Granulated Sugar

2 Eggs

1/4 cup (60 grams) Sour Cream room temperature

1 1/2 teaspoon (6.51 grams) Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup (120 milliliters) Milk

1 cup (180 grams) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Generously spray the pan with cooking spray or coat it with unsalted butter, and then place flour in the pan and shake around to thoroughly coat the entire area, including the side walls, in flour.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt using a metal whisk. Set aside.

Step 3

Using an electric mixer (either handheld or stand mixer) fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the side and bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. Add the eggs and beat on high speed for about 1 minute.

Step 4

Beat in the sour cream and vanilla extract, the mixture will be very lumpy and appear curdled, don't worry that's normal.

Step 5

With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the dry ingredients (about 1 cup at a time). Once all dry ingredients are incorporated, slowly pour in the milk. Beat on low speed until the ingredients are just combined, do not over mix.

Step 6

Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Use the rubber spatula to spread it evenly.

Step 8

Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a long toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Since all ovens differ, I would make sure to keep a close eye on it after 55 minutes. Let loaf cool for at least 45 minutes to be able to properly take it out of the pan. Slice off a piece and enjoy!!!
